Trip Organiser

Privacy policy

Last updated 25 October 2026

Trip Organiser is a trip planner for iPhone. It was made to keep your plans on your phone, and this page says exactly what leaves it.

In short

  • Your trips, bookings, places and notes are kept on your phone, not on our computers.
  • There is no account, no tracking, no adverts and no analytics.
  • A few things have to leave your phone for the app to work. They are listed below, and none of them is sold.

Who we are

Trip Organiser is made by Anton Parker, an independent developer in the United Kingdom, who is responsible for your data under UK data protection law. "We" and "us" on this page mean him. You can reach us at hello@triporganiser.app.

What the app keeps on your phone

Everything you put in: your trips and their dates and cities, bookings and confirmation numbers, places, notes, and links to posts you saved. It is stored in the app's own storage on your iPhone, so it opens with no signal. We never receive it.

Deleting a trip in the app deletes it from your phone, and deleting the app deletes everything. A backup (Trip, then Copy a backup) is text that goes only where you paste it.

What leaves your phone, and why

Maps and search: Apple

The map and place search come from Apple Maps (MapKit). To show the map and find a place, the app sends Apple what you type into search and the area of the map you are looking at. Apple handles this under Apple's privacy policy.

Backup search: OpenStreetMap

Only when Apple's search is not available, a search you send goes instead to Nominatim, OpenStreetMap's search service, run by the OpenStreetMap Foundation. It receives what you typed and the area you are searching in. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation's privacy policy.

Shared trips: only if you share

If you tap Share this trip, that trip (its name and dates, cities, places, bookings with their confirmation numbers, and notes) is stored with Supabase, the database service we use, in its London data centre, so the phones that join with the trip's code see the same plan and changes reach each other. The app connects to Supabase without a name, email address or phone number: each phone is given a random id, kept on that phone. Like any server, Supabase sees a phone's internet address when it connects.

Anyone with the code can join that trip and only that trip, so send it only to people you trust, and leave out confirmation numbers you would rather keep to yourself. When you delete a place or booking on a shared trip, its details are removed from Supabase too. Stop sharing on this phone takes your phone off the trip; when the last phone on it stops sharing, the trip is deleted from Supabase. You can also email us and we will delete it. See Supabase's privacy policy. Trips you do not share never leave your phone.

Links you open

Some buttons open another app or website: Walk the day opens Google Maps with the day's stops, Directions opens Apple Maps, and a saved TikTok or Instagram link opens that app. What you open receives what the link contains, such as the places on the route, and its own privacy policy applies, for example Google's.

Your location

The app asks for your location only when you tap Near me, to sort places by how far away they are and show where you are on the map. It is used on your phone and never sent to us. You can turn it off at any time in Settings, Privacy and Security, Location Services, Trip Organiser.

Links and screenshots you share into the app

You can share a link, some text or a screenshot to Trip Organiser from TikTok, Instagram, Safari or Photos. A link or text is saved on your phone like anything else you add. From a screenshot, the words are read on your phone by Apple's built-in text recognition, and only those words are kept, in the app on your phone. Nothing you share in is sent anywhere, and the app does not open or read the post itself. When you then look the place up, that search goes to Apple Maps like any other search.

Sending the day's plan

Send the day's plan opens your iPhone's share sheet with the day written out as text. It goes only to the app and person you choose, and that app's own privacy policy applies.

What we do not do

  • No account, so no email address, password or profile.
  • No analytics or crash reporting services inside the app. If you have chosen in your iPhone's settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports.
  • No adverts, and no tracking you across other apps or websites.
  • No selling or renting of anything about you, to anyone.

This website

triporganiser.app has no cookies, no analytics and no adverts, and loads nothing from other companies. It is served by Cloudflare, which handles your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. If you switch between light and dark, the choice is kept in your browser only.

If you email us

We use your email address and what you send only to reply to you, and delete it once it is no longer needed for that.

Children

Trip Organiser is suitable for everyone. It collects no personal data from anyone, children included.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Apart from a trip you share or an email you send, we hold nothing about you. We keep a shared trip because you asked us to, to run the sharing, and an email to answer it. Write to hello@triporganiser.app.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be on this page with a new date. If a version of the app starts sending anything new off your phone, this page will say so before that version is released.
